IAA Transportation 2024: T Comm presents itself for the first time as a merged company
Since the announcement of the merger a little over a year ago, a lot has happened at T Comm.
"All the more, we are pleased to be able to inform about the steps already taken as well as the upcoming ones at the IAA," says Bert Hendriks, CEO at T Comm Telematics.
For example, in recent months, it has already been possible to partially or completely migrate numerous FleetFrame customers to the new hardware and user platform. Future measures are planned to focus on the joint further development of the user platform. By pooling the resources and expertise of both companies, this platform will become even more user-friendly and will be able to adapt more flexibly and better to changing needs. This also applies to the driver app, with which drivers can view temperatures and send reports.
Imbema Partnership
Another change concerns the partnership with the Imbema Transport & Logistics Group. As an official outfitter, users of SBS locks now receive information about the current position of the trailers, the doors, the locking situation, break-ins, as well as the temperatures in the loading area through the telematics solution from T Comm. All relevant information is clearly available to the dispatcher on a custom-configurable interface. If detailed information is needed, it can be explored further. In case of deviations, color warnings appear, graded by message priority in green, yellow, or red. Additionally, alarm notifications can be received via email or SMS. At the IAA, experts from Imbema are on hand to demonstrate the integration into the T Comm telematics solution using a specially constructed loading door.
Complete Telematic Solution Certified
For transport and logistics companies handling temperature-sensitive goods, the certification according to the European standard EN 12830:2018 is also of interest. This standard specifies the specific technical and functional properties of temperature recording devices for temperature-sensitive goods between -80°C and +85°C. With the certification of both the sensors and the base units, the complete telematic solution from T Comm now meets all legal requirements for temperature control. A separate device for temperature recording, as previously required, is no longer necessary. T Comm CEO Bert Hendriks is confident that wireless sensors are the future for the transport and storage of temperature-sensitive goods:
“Legal requirements or customer demands can change. With our wireless sensors, we provide transport and logistics companies with the necessary flexibility to quickly adapt to respective conditions without significant installation effort," he explains.
